There’s no place like the library when it comes to books! Free library cards are available to all Mecklenburg County residents, and all students enrolled in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, as well as some private and charter schools, have free library accounts through the ONE Access program.
Getting mail can be exciting for children, especially when there are books involved! This free program, run locally by Smart Start of Mecklenburg County, mails one high quality, age-appropriate book a month directly to children’s homes, from the time they’re born until they turn five years old.
